Jokowi also attends the high-level summit as the President of G20.

In this G7 Summit, President Jokowi will encourage G7 countries to jointly seek peace in Ukraine. He will also seek immediate solutions in dealing with the food crisis and energy crisis that are currently engulfing the world.

"Indeed, this effort is not easy, but we Indonesia will continue to strive (to tackle the problems)," said the President in Jakarta before his departure for Munich, Sunday, June 26, 2022.

"After Germany, I will visit Ukraine and will meet with President Zelenskyy. (Our) mission is to invite the President of Ukraine, President Zelenskyy, to open a space for dialogue in the context of peace, to build peace because war must be stopped and those related to the food supply chain must be reactivated," said the President in his statement at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, before takeoff.

After visiting Ukraine, President Jokowi will head to Russia to meet with President Vladimir Putin. On that occasion, President Jokowi will carry the same mission of peace and would invite President Putin to open a space for dialogue and stop the war in Ukraine.

"Once again, with the same mission, I will invite President Putin to open a dialogue room and as soon as possible to carry out a ceasefire and stop the war," he continued.

From Russia, President Jokowi will then visit the United Arab Emirates to resume discussions on economic and investment cooperation between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates. The President views this visit as important, not only for Indonesia but also for other developing countries.

"This visit is not only important for Indonesia but also important for developing countries to prevent people from developing and low-income countries from falling into extreme poverty and hunger," he explained.

At the end of his statement, President Jokowi ensured that while he was on a trip abroad, the wheels of government would be run by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
